Camino Real Guatemala is one of the top business hotels in Guatemala City and is located in the lively and safe Zone 10 area of Guatemala City, close to the airport. They monitor water / energy use and have a policy to reduce water / energy consumption including low flow toilets and towel / sheet re-use, low energy light bulbs, produce 50-75% energy through alternative / renewable means.

They are members of conservation groups and support initiatives in the local community to improve infrastructure.

La Lancha is the creation of Francis Ford Coppola and offers guests a luxurious stay in the Guatemalan rainforest. The lodge overlooks Lake Peten-Itza and its location in a rainforest setting means there are always tropical birds and monkeys in the area. Rooms are beautifully decorated with Guatemalan textiles and guests can choose between the rainforest cabanas or the Lakeview Casitas. The restaurant is open air with a beautiful thatched roof and allows guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of the jungle as they enjoy traditional Guatemalan dishes with an international flair. Please note this hotel currently only has air conditioning in 2 of their rooms and there are a lot of stairs for clients to maneuver to get between the entrance, the restaurant and the rooms.

Blancaneaux

Blancaneaux is the original Francis Ford Coppola property in Belize. Its location is not in the rainforest as is often described but in fact in a mixed habitat of pine, oak, craboo, sedges and palmetto forest. Pretty thatched cabanas furnished and decorated with local woods and Guatemalan textiles look down to a river valley with the more expensive units being closer to the river. Guests can choose between one and two bedroom units as well as luxury honeymoon suites with their own infinity pools, the Francis Ford Coppola 2 Bedroom Villa with butler service and 1 infinity pool and the new 1 bedroom deluxe “Enchanted Cottage”. There is no air conditioning just ceiling fans but the lodge’s location at slight elevation helps to keep the atmosphere fresh and breezy. Its remote location means that guests will eat in the lodge’s restaurant each night which offers high quality cuisine and service. The lodge now offers a beautiful pool as well as a small hot pool and Spa facility.
